After a careful development process that has lasted three years, Glaswerk Optics presents one of the most interesting professional optical film offerings on the market: its Glaswerk ONE and Glaswerk ONE + ranges. They constitute two games that incorporate frontal anamorphic elements - with an anamorphosis factor of 2x - designed to cover any of the existing large format variants (both Full Frame and VistaVision).
The Glaswerk ONE range has a maximum aperture of T2.4 and includes focal distances of 25, 32, 40, 50, 60, 75, 100, 135 and 180mm.
The Glaswerk ONE + range has identical apertures and focal lengths, but incorporates special coatings that produce the classic internal reflections based on the traditional anamorphic optical designs of the 50s and 60s. Its main differences from ONE are:
-Horizontal blue inner reflections
-Minimized spherical internal reflexes
-Contrast slightly lower
-Internal color reflections customized at the customer's request
Indeed, the ONE + allows the user to choose the color of the horizontal flare, which derives from the width of the coating that is applied to two of the cylindrical elements located in the optic core. By default, they produce a blue flare (as it is the most demanded color), but it can be customized to suit the client. As only two of the 18 elements of the optical block require this coating, the ONE + continue to offer a higher contrast than the vintage anamorphic optics of the 60s.
